Romania has many exciting destinations to offer a traveller. Most people think of Count Dracula, but the country is filled with places worth visiting, from the high Carpathian Mountains to the Danube Delta with its unique bird life and the sunny Black Sea.
Transylvania in the northwest is dotted with medieval Saxon castles, churches, old towns and picturesque villages and the northeastern mountains host painted churches and monasteries. The capital Bucharest and many other towns provide for interesting city tourism. Romania is a wonderful place also for health and recreation, including sports, spa and salt mines.
