The Struma Valley, nestled between lofty green mountains, possesses a unique climate for vine cultivation, spa and recreation. This area receives a lot of sun and the warm climate creates perfect conditions for growing wine and fruit trees, which usually thrive further south around the Mediterranean.
The wineries in the valley of the Struma River produces strong-tasting, sun-filled wines with dark ruby colour and warm, southern aroma. According to tradition, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill ordered every week the heavy, dark wine of Melnik, a small town boasting pyramidal rock formations and an old monastery.
Lecti Adventure organises tours starting in Sofia to this very special place with visits to different wineries, including Melnik, sightseeing and for those who wish, spa and mineral water treatments.
